Power Pesto {nut free/vegan}

This isn't your ordinary pesto recipe. This one is safe for dairy/nut allergies and is PACKED WITH NUTRIENTS. Tons of healthy fats like EFA's & GLA, protein, and vitamins & minerals! Did you know hemp seeds are a complete protein?! Not only is it nutritious but it is a delicious power pesto. You can make this as a sauce to cover chicken or zoodles OR add more olive oil/water/lemon juice and make as a dressing for salads. 

  • 2 C Kale or spinach

  • 1/2 C Basil

  • 1/3 C Organic hemp seeds

  • 1/3 C Raw unsalted pumpkin seeds

  • 1/3 C Extra virgin olive oil

  • 2 tbsp Lemon juice

  • 2 garlic cloves

  • sea salt & pepper to taste

  1. Chop the kale into strips, wash and dry thoroughly.

  2. Place hemp seeds, pumpkin seeds and garlic into a food processor and pulse until coarsely ground. Add kale and basil then blend again. Finally add olive oil, lemon juice, salt and pepper and process until you have desired consistency.

  3. Store in an air tight container in the fridge. You can also freeze it if you're not going to use it right away
